PREFACE
1. In demonstration of the demand of history,
the urge to create a bright future for the people and the burning expression of
youth against injustice led Shahid Amirus Salam Babul to sacrifice his life.
This learning
centre which aims at development of divine-self in the children was established
after the name and in the memory of this martyr.
2. Establish in the campus of Pallima Sangsad of
Khilgaon Chowdhurypara, Shahid Babul Academy was set up by and under the direct
leadership of the vibrant members of Pallima Sangsad.
3. Shahid Babul Academy is a reflection of
sound, earnest and strong initiative of the youths of Pallima Sangsad.
4. The Academy started its operation under a
Management Committee led by Md. Hafizur Rahman Moyna following a resolution of
the central committee of Pallima Sangsad on 01 January, 1976.
5. The Academy has two wings (a) Bangla Medium & (b) English Version. Currently the Academy has 2340 students, 74 teachers & office staff and 30 helping hands.
Objectives and Activities
1. We are all
familiar with the cruel reality. Since birth, our young children are
topsy-turvied by various adversities and such persistent blows damage their
spontaneous and instinct tender feelings depriving them of the natural and
healthy enjoyment. Consequently, they turn into inert, abnormal and incomplete
animal who in their subsequent lives fail to exert their presence for health
and progress of the society. Despite our knowledge about this reality, we have
failed, just like chained animals, to come out of this curse. Our failures have
only strengthened the force of adversities which include that of social, family
and primarily educational. Far detached from enjoyment, reality and knowledge,
the current education system turns us into illiterate mass from our childhood.
It is recognized that no effort of any single section of the society is
adequate to get out of this situation but a small initiative can certainly be a
step toward right direction. This hope, trust and confidence is our driving
force.
2. In this circumstances led us, a group of youths,to
establish Shahid Babul Academy under the umbrella of Pallima Sangsad.
3. We intend to express the purpose of this
academic institution by deed and not by words. Yet a few lines will be apt to
give a clear idea about the academy:
(a) This institution will create a stream against farcical
education for children.
(b) Motto of Shahid Babul Academy is : Joyful learning and
educative enjoyment.
4. In order to unfold the hidden
talent, human values and thirst for knowledge of children this institution
will:
(a) prepare children mentally to present themselves properly in
the society.
(b) create consciousness among the children to differentiate
between right and wrong
(c) flourish, through easy education, self confidence, moral
fibre and conscience.
(d) teach children to gain an inner urge to be friendly and
tolerant to others' views.
(e) make them conscious of civility, social behaviour and self
criticism.
(f) develop a mental state strong enough to apply and exercise
own power.
(g) adopt creative tools, such as
sports, literature and art to ensure physical and mental health.
(h) create in children the value of love to keep them away from
harmful mental feelings such as retaliation, jelousy, inferiority complex etc.
(i) inculcate in children the value to respect the elders and
love the youngers.
(j) play lead role in flourishing transparent, natural and
vibrant mentality to make children enable to adjust in the society.
(k) above all, bring out and enhance through joyful education
the good, healthy & natural potential feelings which will be main force to
create resistance against all ill feelings.
5. Since education at all levels
will be wholly devoted to childrens' mental need and unfolding of full mental
potential, it will completely deny any boundary. The Academy will work to
create joy through education and attraction to learning & knowledge.
6. The unparallel environment of
the academy will help meeting to a great extent, the mental demand.
7. The teachers will be with the
children to take them forward in a slow and steady pace with their devotion and
skill. The teachers will be facilitators rather than instructors.
8. Alongside academic curriculum,
equal or higher importance will be put on other attractive materials, games,
stories, laughter, songs, drawings etc.
